Einstein’s Garden returns to nurture your curiosity, making inspiring encounters with science and nature an essential part of your GM16 adventure!
In Einstein’s Garden you’ll discover a playful collision of the inspiring and the unexpected: music, comedy and spoken word; innovative and fun presentations from scientists; wildlife walks, inspiring talks and unique workshops. We’ve got more excitement to share this year than ever before – here’s just a taste of what we’ve got in store in the Garden...
We absolutely love OKIDO, the children’s arts and science magazine, and their CBeebies show, Messy Goes to OKIDO – they’re inspiring, beautifully illustrated and lots of fun. So we’re delighted that they’ll be coming to Einstein’s Garden, and bringing all kinds of creative games and activities to the Workshop Dome. Star Seekers, a unique theatrical experience will explore the limitless majesty of space through songs, silliness and anti-gravity antics – and they need Green Man's Star Seekers to help them complete their mission! Einstein’s Garden is nothing without its audience of inquisitive Gardeners, and we’ll have plenty more interactive shows to enjoy. Guess the animal noise in Jungle Calling, make one of science’s most exciting discoveries in Hunting the Higgs, and relive the story of Galileo, the original rebel scientist, in Planets Collide. Level Up Human joined us last year to record an episode of their podcast, and we’re excited to welcome them back for more thought-provoking and frequently absurd speculation about the future of human evolution. Steve Cross is the science comedian who insists he knows nothing about science, and he’ll be telling us ‘How Science Ruined My Life’. Matt Allinson knows about ethics and self-driving cars; find out why his advice is ‘Don't Drive with Demosthenes’. And Jack Heal will be asking what we’ve always wondered: ‘Do Scientists Dream of Synthetic Sheep?’ We'll have science-y songs from Cat Rogers, Professor Karmadillo and OK2, the welcome return of Poco Drom, the Science Ceilidh Band and Galapagos Finch – plus brooding folk from Heg & The Wolf Chorus and The Minke Whales. This is just a taste of what we've got in store - you can check out the full line-up so far over at the Green Man website. With all this, and much more to come – including some unique Einstein’s Garden experiences we’ve been working on with our fantastic scientific partners – we can’t wait to see you in the Garden this August!
